Paradisus Playa del Carmen

How Paradisus Playa del Carmen Changed My Mind.

I’ve written extensively about how when I travel with my family we only – always – stay in condos or vacation rentals.

After one particularly memorable night when my little guy was only about 1 year old, my husband and I, already frazzled trying to get everyone to sleep in a too-small hotel room, exhausted from running out at all hours for milk or other necessities, packed up our young family at 3am and headed for the airport to catch the first flight out.

At that point we swore off hotels for family travel for good.

Well, the Paradisus Playa del Carmen, an all-inclusive Melia Resort north of Playa del Carmen, has just changed my mind. And this is no small task!

Paradisus Playa del Carmen

Here are five reasons why the Paradisus Playa del Carmen All-Inclusive Resort is a dream come true for families.

Paradisus Playa del Carmen Has a Magical Family Concierge

Upon arrival at Paradisus Playa del Carmen La Esmeralda All Inclusive, as part of the Family Concierge program we loved the private check-in facility where kids were happily digging into a bar full of snacks and drinks while parents attended to the business of check in. Then as we headed towards our room, we got to know Isreal, our Family Concierge.

And perhaps more importantly, he got to know us. Isreal helped us make dinner reservations, organized to have our clothes ironed, stocked our kitchenette with my hubby’s preferred brand of Scotch and my favorite white wine, and coordinated a litany of amazing surprises for the kids.  To facilitate every last need, we were handed a cell phone programmed with his phone number just in case we needed anything at any time.

The Swim-Up Rooms at Paradisus Playa del Carmen Are Perfect for Kids

While it may sound simple, the ability for kids to literally spill out of the room and right into the pool is pure magic. Bring your floaty toys, balls and enjoy your private access to the massive pool that winds through the grounds.

If it gets chilly in the afternoon, just call your Family Concierge on the cell phone and have him draw a bubble bath outside where everyone can warm up and relax.

Kitchenette PLUS 24-hour Room Service Ensures You Have it All

This is really, truly, the next best thing to having a full kitchen.  At any time of the day, yummy food is only a phone call away. With a microwave, toaster and mini-fridge in the room, you can have any ting you want any time of day.

From the hamburger and hot dog cart on the beach to the popcorn and cotton candy stations around the pools, your kids will never go hungry at the Paradisus Playa del Carmen.

Paradisus Spoils You With Wonderful Little Kid Surprises

Throughout the day the staff at the Paradisus Playa del Carmen all-inclusive resort is busy creating special touches to bring magic to this beach experience for your children (as if a week at the beach wasn’t enough!). Not only do the kids get a cute backpack and some goodies upon check in, but the room can come prepared with video games of your child’s choosing.

Looking for a specific game? Your Family Concierge can likely track it down. After a long day in the sun, kids are welcomed back to the room with milk and cookies. And following dinner, a surprise bathtub full of bubbles and balloons will leave smiles on everyone’s face as you drift to sleep.

You might not want to leave your room.

From slippers and bathrobe to room service to your private butler, you seriously may never want to leave your room. Contrast that to the small, cramped and stressful hotel rooms of my family’s traveling past, and I’ll take this any day!

Welcome to luxury family travel at the Paridusus Playa del Carmen. While we left them home this time, next time we’re bringing the kids.

Would you consider staying at an all-inclusive resort with your children?
